GRATIA is system designed to help our University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) foster a culture of appreciation and gratitude for each other. Every day faculty members, residents, staff, and students work together to fulfill our mission in research and discovery, education and training, and patient care. In that process, we experience some incredible moments of kindness, respect, and excellence.

This system allows us to take time to recognize these moments as examples of the culture we want to live in.

Guideline for Action: when you witness a great example of excellence in Education, Research, Clinical Care, Professionalism, or simple kindness on the part of a College of Medicine faculty member:

Step 1: Take a moment to express your gratitude and appreciation.
Step 2: If you feel our “chain of command” should learn about this example to foster our culture of appreciation, do let them know.
Step 3: If you would like to have this gratitude recorded for the College, log in and eneter a report in GRATIA. You can remain anonymous if you prefer and feel more comfortable.

Thanks for taking the time to help us build a culture of excellence and appreciation at the UAMS College of Medicine!
