The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is pleased to announce this year’s Art from the Heart reception will return as an in-person event! Please join the UAMS community on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on the 12th floor of the Spine Building to view this year’s exhibition, which will showcase over 40 creative works in a variety of art forms. This year’s works were submitted by UAMS staff, faculty, students, and their immediate family members.
Art from the Heart partners with the Paulette and Jay Mehta Creative Writing Awards and the Department of Medical Humanities and Bioethics in the College of Medicine. This collaboration highlights the artistic talent across various disciplines and recognizes UAMS community members with the presentation of awards at the Art from the Heart reception.
Art from the Heart collaborators also include the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, with two staff participating on the judging committee: Marlie Allgood, Youth & Family Programs Manager, and Elly Bates, Drawing and Painting Faculty in the Windgate Art School.
