IRB

The UAMS Institutional Review Board (IRB) protects the rights and welfare of subjects involved in the human research that it oversees.

ORIS

The Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) provides leadership, business analysis, strategic planning in the design, creation and deployment of solutions to address the cross-functional administrative issues for the University’s research initiative.

ORSP

The mission of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is to provide support for UAMS faculty in the acquisition, performance and administration of projects and programs funded by extramural sources.

OSPAN

The Office of Sponsored Programs Administrative Network (OSPAN) provides sponsored programs administration to all stakeholders of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Our experts will conduct the administrative business of sponsored programs so stakeholders can perform the sponsored program objectives.

Bioventures

UAMS established BioVentures to maximize global, industrial interaction with the University of Arkansas faculty, as well as to facilitate technology transfer, the development of startup companies that are based on technology developed at UAMS, and contributions to Arkansas’ economic development. BioVentures links the research minds at UAMS to global markets in order to advance Arkansas’ scientific and economic development.

Clinical & Research Ethics

The mission of the Department of Medical Humanities and Bioethics is to improve the health, health care and well-being of Arkansans and of others in the region, nation and the world by addressing the ethical and humanistic issues raised in health care delivery and research.

TRI

The UAMS Transnational Research Institute (TRI) provides services and resources to ensure the swift translation of research into health care advances. This support is available to all UAMS researchers at the UAMS campus in Little Rock, the Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Research Institute in Little Rock, and the Central Arkansas Veteran’s Healthcare System in Little Rock and North Little Rock.

The Center for Health Literacy is a multidisciplinary team of expert health literacy researchers, consultants, and practitioners dedicated to improving society and population health by making health information easy to understand and use.

Library Services

The UAMS Library serves the faculty, staff, and students of all UAMS colleges as well as the staff of the University Hospital. The collection and services are designed to meet the education, research, service, and patient care missions of UAMS. The Library also extends reference and borrowing privileges to health care practitioners throughout Arkansas either directly or through UAMS Regional Center Libraries.

Office of Educational Development

The Office of Educational Development (OED) focuses on improving the teaching and learning experience at UAMS by providing consultation, services, and support in teaching skills and scholarship, eLearning, course design, and evaluation.

WFDC

The Women’s Caucus was founded in 1989 as a professional development and mentoring program to help women advance their career and assume leadership positions. Our professional development efforts have resulted in an expanding organization that addresses the needs of all UAMS faculty members.

IPE

The Office of Interprofessional Education (IPE) operates within the UAMS Division of Academic Affairs. IPE contributes to the curriculum development, scholarship productivity, research infrastructure and collaborative practice environment across all five UAMS colleges and the graduate school.

DDEI

The mission of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is to intentionally advance and leverage diversity, equity, and inclusion through programs, committees, and student groups that drive UAMS’ mission and the 2029 Strategic Plan to improve the health, health care and wellbeing of Arkansans and of others in the region, nation and world.

EAP

AEAP are free services available to help supervisors, managers and employees trouble shoot for potential problems, as well as, identify areas of potential growth.

Faculty Wellness Program

Launched in 2006 the Faculty Wellness Program supports the overall professional health and vitality of all our faculty. This programs’ goals are to provide health promotion educational information, facilitate the incorporation of health-related behaviors and wellness practices in our faculty, to promote awareness of and access to crisis and support services.
