GRATIA  is a system designed to help the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) foster a culture of appreciation and gratitude. Every day our faculty members, residents, staff and students work together to fulfill our mission through research and discovery, education and training, and patient care. In the process, we experience some incredible moments of kindness, respect and excellence.

We want to take the time to recognize these moments as examples of the culture in which we want to work and learn.

Guidelines for Action: when you witness a great example of excellence in education, research, clinical care, professionalism or kindness on the part of a College of Medicine faculty member:

Step 1: Take a moment to express your gratitude and appreciation to that individual.
Step 2: If you feel the faculty member’s “chain of command” should learn about this example to help foster our culture of appreciation, please let the respective leaders in your area know.
Step 3: If you would like to have this gratitude recorded for the College, log in and enter a report in GRATIA. You can remain anonymous if you prefer and feel more comfortable.

Thanks for taking the time to help us build a culture of excellence and appreciation at the UAMS College of Medicine!
