Why Dr. Harrington thinks this program is important…

I am so excited to be a part of this communication training for UAMS. We have superb faculty at this institution and this class is an opportunity for all of us to improve practice in caring for patients and families. In palliative care, meeting patients and families “where they are,” reading cues well, and communicating at a level that connects are all pieces of good communication. I’m looking forward to teaching this curriculm, as it has helped me significantly in my own practice.
