We are excited to announce the launch of a NEW Leadership Development Fund available to UAMS faculty! This fund is designed to support faculty members who seek to enhance their leadership capabilities through external professional development opportunities.
Funds are limited so please take some time in crafting your application.
Applications are due by 5:00 pm, Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Leadership development refers to intentional efforts to strengthen skills such as strategic thinking, team and organizational leadership, communication, change management, and decision-making—capabilities that empower individuals to lead effectively in complex academic healthcare environments.
If you are considering an external training opportunity that addresses a critical leadership skill need, we encourage you to apply. Eligible opportunities may include national leadership programs, workshops, or institutes that align with your professional goals.
The Leadership Development event can be held at any point in fiscal year 2026 or 2027, but funds must be spent by June 30, 2026.
Application requirements:
- Description of the external training and its relevance to your leadership development.
- Explanation of how the opportunity will impact your career growth.
- Description of how the training will benefit UAMS as an institution.
