The Committee on Mentoring will provide relevant experience and mentoring to those UAMS faculty considering retirement. This will be done by (1) working with the Staff of the Center for Faculty Excellence to sponsor Pre-retirement Seminars on retirement relevant topics, and (2) providing one-on-one mentoring to faculty considering retirement. The members of the Committee need not be experts in Financial or Estate Planning but can provide information based upon personal experience about practical issues relating to retirement (health insurance, Social Security issues, time management, personal identity after no longer being an active faculty member, etc).”
